Bearing Witness to
the Savior
June 25, 2012
Its amazing how our Lord
orchestrates such miraculous opportunities to share His word with someone. During
our team devotional on our second day in Beirut at Beit Mary, the young man of
Muslim descent, which allowed Sarai to use his phone the previous night,
visited us. He was bringing the phone to Sarai because our local missionary
leader was calling to check on us. As Sarai spoke to Gladys, the young man
joined in on our team devotional time with questions about what we were
discussing. The Holy Spirit was at work as the young man was open to learning
about the Word of God and before he left, our team member, Angelique gave him a
copy of her Bible as a gift.
After our devotion time and
witnessing experience, we packed our belongings for the move to Notre Dame de
Rosaire Monastery. This place will become our new living quarters for the
remainder of the trip, when we are not at camp.
The remainder of our day involved
camp leadership training at Arabic Baptist Theological Seminary (ABTS) and the
Lebanese Society for Educational and Social Development (LSESD). This years’
camp theme is God of Wonders, with the sub-themes for each days’ devotional
being God of Faithfulness, God of Mercy, and God of all Creation. We are
preparing for an exciting camp experience.
As a special surprise after training,
our beloved missionaries, Gladys and her husband Danny took us on a tour of
downtown Beirut and the Marina for dinner.
