The Work Begins

On January 15 our first team meeting was held.  We got off the ground running, receiving our assignments.  In most cases paired off and others solo due to the nature of skills such as nursing.  Each team member has ownership of certain areas.  The areas are varied:  music, blog writing, arts & craft, sports and games, music, photography, nursing, mental health, drama, and the trip prayer card.  We also were matched with a fellow team member to pray for the other from now until we return and report on the mission to our sending church.  We met again on February 12th.  We learned that Alisha would not be able to go with us.  While saddened, we understand that this is God's trip not ours!  And barely could believe it when days later He brought Mirick Grant to keep us at 7!     

Our first team task is to raise the prayer and financial support needed to carry out this mission.  We have dedicated hours to writing letters which have been mailed and e-mailed to our friends, family, colleagues, and neighbors throughout the country this month.  By giving you do much more than help us buy all the camp materials and get us to the Middle East to carry out this overnight orphan and extremely needy children's camp.  You bring smiles to the faces of children.  You give hope to the hopeless.  You give loved to the unloved.  You do God's work.
